SEARCH WARRANT RESULTS IN SEIZURE OF OVER $82,000.00  WORTH OF ILLEGAL CANNABIS

Cornwall, ON – On the morning of February 4th, 2020, members of the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at an Amelia Street residence.

During the search, police located a quantity of illicit cannabis, edibles, as well as illicit cannabis resin, commonly referred to as “shatter.” The street value of the drugs is estimated to be over $82,000.00.

Johnathan Lebrun, 25, of Cornwall, was subsequently taken into custody and charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of distributing, as well as three counts of possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling. He was released to appear in court on March 3rd, 2020.

“The distribution of illicit cannabis remains a lucrative and dangerous operation for criminal enterprises,” said Inspector Chad Maxwell of the Field Operations Division. “Illicit drugs pose a significant risk to the safety and well-being of our community, and we are making every effort to intercept these operations and put an end to their distribution in our neighbourhoods.”

The CPS is working diligently to combat drug trafficking within the city of Cornwall and would like to remind residents about the dangers of using and selling illicit drugs. Anyone with information on illegal drug activity is encouraged to contact our anonymous tip line at 613-933-5000 ext. 2404.
