Cornwall, ON – Throughout the month of June, the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) will be checking for valid vehicle documents as part of its monthly traffic initiative. This month’s traffic campaign is called, “Operation: All in Order.”

Thieves can use vehicle permits and insurance certificates to commit fraud or steal an identity. Operation “All in Order” will be conducted by officers to ensure motorists have the proper documentation for their motor vehicles and to verify that their registration is up to date. Officers will be conducting checks of ownership, insurance, licence plates, driver’s licences, etc.

“The purpose of Operation: All in Order to is to remind motorists of the importance of keeping their documentation up to date,” said Constable Patrick Depratto of the Traffic Unit. “As officers, we need to know who is driving on our roads, and verify motorists are legally eligible to drive, in order to keep our roadways safe.”

Enhancing traffic safety is a major objective within the CPS Strategic Plan. As such, monthly safety initiatives have been developed to keep the public informed and promote safer roadways and bike paths. These initiatives will be carried out by the Traffic Unit, as well as Community Patrol Officers.

“A safer Cornwall for all to enjoy.”
