WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Melissa Stroud, 41 of Ottawa was arrested on June 25th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in December 2019 the woman deposited stolen cheques in an account. Police were contacted and a warrant was obtained for her arrest. On June 25th, 2020 she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 10th, 2020.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Melinda Cook, 23 of Akwesasne was arrested on June 25th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on June 25th, 2020 the woman attended a Second Street East store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted to attend. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 10th, 2020.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 25th, 2020 and charged with assault and breach of undertaking for communicating with his ex-common-law wife and for being within 100m of her. It is alleged during an argument on June 25th, 2020 the man assaulted his ex-common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. The man was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
