THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Chantal Leger, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on December 15th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on December 12th, 2017 the woman attended a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 15th, 2017 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 18th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on December 15th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to abide by house rules and failing to remain in her residence. She was also charged with breach of a youth probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 23rd, 2017 the woman left her residence without permission and police were contacted to investigate. On December 15th, 2017 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from when the woman was a youth and she is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Torran Mitchell-Terrance, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on December 15th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on December 14th, 2017 for drive disqualified charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 15th, 2017 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 16th, 2017 and charged with assault X3, assault cause bodily harm, threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged between October, 2017 and December 16th, 2017 the man assaulted his girlfriend on several occasions causing her to seek medical attention on one occasion. It is also alleged the man threatened to harm the woman while brandishing a metal bar. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identity the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 17th, 2017 and charged with assault X2 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the month of December, 2017 the man assaulted his girlfriend on two occasions and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Scotty Brownell-Lauzon, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on December 17th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation. It is alleged on October 1st, 2017 the man selected various items at a Ninth Street store making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 17th, 2017 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
