East End Station

The 2008-2010 Business Plan spelled out the direction for our organization. Our Plan was titled "Policing Cornwall" and was developed to reflect the concerns of our community and our organization. It encompassed four main strategic thrusts:

  • Youth Programs
  • Visibility & Presence
  • Community Partnerships
  • Communications

As a result, our Service embarked in a new direction and acquired a "precinct building" in the east end of the city. Renovations followed during the spring and early summer, culminating with Chief Daniel Parkinson announcing the grand opening of the East End Station in September 2008.

The building is home to the Crime Reduction/Community Partnership Unit (CRCP), as well as the Youth Services Unit. Community Patrol Officers also use the station during their tour of duty in order to prepare reports and conduct follow ups to ongoing investigations.

The CRCP members are committed to the reduction of crime through an interactive and educational partnership with local schools, businesses as well as with members of the community. They are East End Stationconstantly looking for and developing new and innovative programs to help members of our community make positive healthy lifestyle choices.

Our Youth Services Unit is an exciting initiative which allows our officers to have a positive impact on the youth of this City. At risk youths are identified and guided away from a possible path of future criminal behaviour. This is accomplished through community partnerships and referrals to outside agencies as well as consultative committees and other organizations that can provide specialized services to the identified youths in need.

The East End Station is proving to be a successful undertaking. The satellite office located in the heart of Le Village at 330 Montreal Road, is staffed by five officers dedicated to better serve the needs of the east end community.
