Deputy Chief Shawna Spowart brings over 23 years of progressive experience with the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) in various areas including Community Patrol Division, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division. For the past 4.5 years, she has held the position of Inspector of Field Operations.

A graduate of the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, Deputy Chief Spowart has consistently demonstrated a leadership role. She was instrumental in the development and implementation of various strategic initiatives including the S.D. & G. Situation Table, the Vulnerable Sector Mobile Acute Response Team and Corporate Communications.

Deputy Chief Spowart has served on the Board of Directors for Maison Baldwin House, Counselling and Support Services of S.D. & G., and the Cornwall District Immigration Services Agency. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors for Koala Place and the S.D. &G Situation Table.

Throughout her career, Deputy Chief Spowart has received various awards including the Police Exemplary Service Medal by the Governor General, Recognition for 20 Years of Service and Awards of Excellence for Team Achievement, Investigations and Meritorious Service.
