Chief of Police Danny Aikman

Chief of Police Danny Aikman has served with the Cornwall Police Service since 1981. He has held numerous Operational and Administrative roles for the Service. After serving as the Deputy Chief of Police for 15 years, Chief Aikman was sworn in as Chief of Police on November 16, 2018.

Chief Aikman has worked closely with several community organizations serving on the Board of Directors for numerous community agencies including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cornwall and District. He was honoured to Chair the Board of Directors for Maison Baldwin House and the United Way/Centraide of S.D. & G.

In addition to studying Business Administration at the University of Ottawa, Chief Aikman has trained in police leadership at the Ontario Police College, the Canadian Police College, Dalhousie University, and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Chief Aikman has been awarded the Police Exemplary Service Medal for thirty years of service.  In recognition of his accomplishments in policing, Chief Aikman was invested as a Member of the Order of Merit of Police Forces in 2011 by the Governor General and in 2012 was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Chief Aikman is a member of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
