Temporary Financial Services Clerk

The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) has identified a need for one (1) Temporary Financial Services Clerk in the Executive Services Division. This is a temporary position with the potential to become a Permanent Full-Time position.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary level education for a minimum of 1 year; a specialization in Accounting/Finance is considered an asset (diploma or degree must be included with application)
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work related activities effectively
• Excellent computer skills with demonstrated keyboarding proficiency
• Experience in data entry and spreadsheet applications (the selection process will include Excel testing)
• Ability to interpret CPS policies, procedures and collective agreements
• Ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality
• Excellent interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal communication skills
• Bilingualism is considered an asset

Working under the supervision of the Chief of Police, the Temporary Financial Services Clerk will be responsible to ensure compliance with audits, Adequacy Standards and C.A.L.E.A. Standards.

The major responsibilities of the position will be:

• Maintain all employee hours and personnel information in OSL Solutions
• Transfer of bi-weekly payroll information into the City of Cornwall’s payroll system
• Process accounts payables and accounts receivables
• Administration of petty cash fund
• Answer inquiries from departments and suppliers
• Maintain an up-to date filing system, including rotation of physical archived files
• Maintain a high level of professionalism
• Other relevant duties as assigned
